The Mishimoto MMTS‑CIV‑92L Low‑Temperature Racing Thermostat is a performance‑oriented replacement thermostat engineered to open at a lower temperature than the factory unit, allowing coolant to begin circulating sooner and helping reduce peak engine temperatures. This lowers overall engine heat load, improving thermal stability under high‑performance driving and extended high RPM operation — especially useful with modified engines and upgraded cooling systems.
Designed for a range of Honda vehicles — most notably the 1984-2002 Honda Civic — this thermostat can also fit many related Hondas and Acuras with compatible 4‑cylinder engines when the housing and coolant pathways match. Opening at approximately 154.4°F (68°C) versus the OEM ~172.4°F (78°C), the MMTS‑CIV‑92L helps keep coolant flowing earlier for better thermal efficiency.
