machine seems to be in good working order! tested all the functions i could. I don't have a reel small enough. but the tubes light up and static was coming out of the built in speaker. I had to track it down but this is a sony model 5100 ( they probably used the columbia name to be able to sell in the U.S.) few stains an dings on it. the leather on the handle is rated. this is a small portable player Recorder. measures  11.5" x 9" hinges and latches good. little tear on the speaker grill. overall in good condition.
