Chirashi
Chirashi are mini-posters,
sometimes referred to as flyers or handbills, used to advertise movies in Japan.
Due to the fact they are only
available from theaters while the movie is showing,
they are
collectible movie memorabilia and rise in value based on age and
scarcity.
Chirashi are,
in general, high quality poster prints printed on high quality paper.
CHIRASHI ARE USUALLY A B5 SIZE OR ABOUT
18CM X 26CM, PLUS OR MINUS.
Sometimes, chirashi may be a different format, i.e., two or more sheets folded
together joined by a spine.
What's unique about Japanese chirashi posters is
that much of the artwork
is custom created for the Japanese market, with a
distinctive Japanese design.
The Japanese chirashi poster will often look
quite different to the artwork available in other countries...
in many cases
the design is superior.
And, some innovative released chirashi includes a
fold-out and specialty prints you won't find anywhere else.
Due to their
handy size and low cost, they are, by far, the most popular size of posters
among Japanese collectors as well as collectors of movie memorabilia
worldwide.

DESCRIPTION OF THE CHIRASHI ARTWORK
The chirashi is framed with a black border and it contains a digitally
illustrated montage that has an ominous tone,
dominated by the obvious
light/dark symbols.
Kylo Ren hovers on top beside the new Starkiller
Base.
"目覚めよー" (Wake up) is printed in the upper right-hand corner
and
Rey is the centerpiece figure holding her scavenger staff, with Finn to
her left and his blue lightsaber drawn.
Below them are our old friends
R2-D2 and C-3PO, Chewbacca, Han Solo, and Princess Leia, all in their
action poses.
Amongst them are some newer characters, BB-8, Poe Dameron,
and the goggle-eyed alien Maz Kanata.
At the bottom of the illustration
is Captain Phasma centered alongside two Stormtroopers,
while a whole
legion of them are behind the trio.
Spacecraft are flying on both sides
of the yellow outlined Star Wars logo,
with the white lettered フォースの覚醒
film title in the middle.
Release date
- (Japan) - 12.18 (金) 18時30分 全国一斉公開.
On the back side, there is a
large image of Rey holding her quarterstaff on Jakku
along with several
other colored movie photo scenes.

includes a synopsis of the film, release date, and cast information.
