Golden replicas of United States stamps are 22 karat gold replicas of United States stamps. They were produced in the 1980s by private companies, such as the Postal Commemorative Society, to profit from the stamp collecting industry. The stamps were sold as part of a subscription program, and members could receive them in the mail, sometimes up to three at a time.
