Stainless Flexible Oil Pan Dipstick for Chevy SBC 305 350 400 5.7 Passenger Side
This dipstick pushes into the factory block passage and seals using an oaring. It is held in place using a swiveling bracket to bolt to the cylinder head. The flexibility of this dipstick allows you to utilize any exhaust manifold or header on the market. The locking feature allows you to contain the dipstick so that pressure spikes in the crankcase do not push the dipstick out making a mess and potentially putting oil on the ground.

HOW TO INSTALL:
1) Clean the dipstick opening in the engine block, oil pan, or timing cover, making sure it is free from all debris or burrs.
2) Remove the handle and inner measuring cable from the dipstick tube assembly.
3) Install the dipstick tube assembly into the dipstick opening on the engine block, pan, or timing cover.
4) Route the dipstick tube assembly up through the exhaust manifold/header as straight as possible and secure the upper mounting bracket to an existing manifold/header bolt.
5) Lightly lubricate the o-rings on the dipstick handle with engine oil. Insert the handle and inner measuring cable fully into the dipstick tube assembly.
6) Verify that the oil level is at the FULL mark on the inner measuring cable. If the oil level reads correctly, then return the handle and inner measuring cable into the dipstick tube assembly.
Note: Make sure the braided stainless steel part of the dipstick tube assembly is not touching the exhaust at any point.
