Soviet Era or Early Post Soviet Era
Russian Khokhloma, Lathe-turned Pencil Case
Red Currant Pattern.

Purchased through Maison Ruse (Lisle IL)  in the early 1990s, shortly after the collapse of the USSR.  The workmanship suggest it is Soviet Era.

According to Google Translate, the original Russian tag (inside) reads:

"KHOKHLOMSKAYA PAINTING"
Case for pencils SENPI-TO/MI16-653 Price 3-70

Holds about 4 standard sized pens or pencils, but has lived a quite life as a decorative piece.

Shipping & Returns

Free priority shipping within the US in a padded envelope or box. NB: I combine shipping when it is safe to do so for the object.
I typically go to the post office to mail the packages on Fridays before work, so shipments will go out from 1-5 business days after payment.

Shipping and sales within the US only.  (Sorry, but the USPS has made the process of international shipping a real hassle.)

I accept returns within 14 days of purchase as long as the item is in the same condition as shown in the photos.
