Four C. AHRENFELDT Limoges OVINGTON Bros. SOUP BOWLS circa 1915 Gold AHR995
Absolutely exquisite set of 4 flat Soup Plates (or bowls) produced by Charles Ahrenfeldt in the early 1900s, Limoges France.
Each of these bowls measure 8.5" wide and 1.5" deep. Snowy white china, with elaborately decorated sculpted rim featuring scrolls, leaves, flowers, flourishes - and just gobs and gobs of GOLD.
These are officially listed as the "AHR995" pattern at Replacements.com - but I believe that's simply an inventory control number, not really a pattern number. Regardless, it does help you to find more!
These were imported to the United States by the Ovington Brothers, a high-end importer in New York City, in business from the mid 1800s until somewhere around 1920.
No chips, cracks, crazing, repairs or any other damage. You may see a few pinpoint spots of missing gold on the highpoints of the rims, from stacking over the years. Marked on the bottom as shown - with both the Ahrenfeldt Limoges marks as well as the Ovington Brothers importer mark.
Note that I have "2" as the available quantity - I have a total of 8 of these, and they're being sold in groups of 4. If you'd like all 8, please make sure to change the quantity when you purchase.
