Wiring Diagrams & Quick Hookup

Use the diagrams below as a reference when building a 3S pack. Always verify polarity and cell order before connecting.

3S BMS wiring basic

Basic 3S wiring: B–, B1, B2, B+

3S BMS wiring with load and charger

Wiring with main switch, charger port & load

Quick hookup summary: B– = battery negative end (Cell1 negative), B1 = connection between Cell1+ / Cell2–, B2 = connection between Cell2+ / Cell3–, B+ = battery positive; P– / P+ = pack charge/discharge terminals.

Warning: Lithium-ion cells are high-energy devices. Improper handling, incorrect wiring or charging with unsuitable chargers can cause overheating, fire or explosion. This BMS is a protection aid — it does not remove the need for safe battery construction and handling.

  • Use matching cells only: same model, age, capacity and internal resistance.
  • Do not mix old and new cells.
  • Verify cell voltages before assembly: cells should be within ~0.05–0.10V of each other before connecting.
  • Confirm wiring order & polarity: B– → B1 → B2 → B+. Incorrect wiring may permanently damage the BMS and cells.
  • Use a proper 3S CC/CV charger (12.6V): never attempt to charge a Li-ion pack with a generic unregulated supply.
  • Do not exceed current rating: heavy continuous loads require thicker cables, proper fuses and adequate cooling.
  • Do not use swollen, punctured, or damaged cells.
  • Test new packs carefully: test with a small load first and monitor cell temperatures and voltages.
  • Charge under supervision: avoid leaving charging battery packs unattended, especially during initial cycles.
  • Enclose batteries safely: use non-conductive housings and isolate terminals to prevent shorts.
  • Recycle cells responsibly: follow local laws and battery recycling guidelines.
