Maybe it was an attempt to shake things up at the famous Ciner Jewelry Company. In the 1970s, Ciner found designer Joanne Cooper who was gaining fame for her free-form organic Modernist designs. She designed a limited edition of jewelry for Ciner. Many of her pieces were one-of-a-kind. They're hard to find and thrilling to own for their rarity.
Joanne Cooper jewelry has been featured on the covers of Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Women's Wear Daily. Her work was sold in upscale stores including Henri Bendel's, Saks Fifth Avenue, Hanae Mari and the Kruger Gallery.
