Davis served as a Republican in the 1st District, Fall River, Massachusetts from 1883-1889. Each book has R.T. Davis either on the bottom of spine cover or front board as these were his personal books. The 4 large books on the left are Titled U.S. Commission on Fish and Fisheries, Commissioner's Report and represent the years 1883-1885. *** A few books contain many Plates with Fish, Equipment and Maps.
1883 is 1206 pages and include 55 plates regarding the fishing industry. 11 additional plates feature Whales and Dolphins.
1884 book has a few plates and is 1204 pages.
1885 has 150 single page plates with subjects ranging from fishing equipment to specific mechanical devices. 1108 pages
1886 is 1070 pages with a few plates
Also include is an 1885 Bulletin of U.S. Fish Commission.
