This adze is heavier than normal, I think it is partially due to the relatively thick cherryblossom handle.
Please sharpen up the edge with a sharpening stone, and make sure that the handle and the head is tight before using.
About the video above, the wood was chestnut tree or Japanese sawtooth oak. They are a hard tree. We don't usually use a chouna for these hard boardleaf trees. It is usually used for a conifeous tree. Thanks.
