Dewey Bartlett was the 19th governor of Oklahoma and served from 1967 to 1971. He was the first Roman Catholic elected governor in that state. He also served in the U.S. Senate from 1972 to 1978.

Born in Ohio, schooled in New Jersey, he was a Princeton graduate and served in the Marines during WW2. At his death in 1979, he owned businesses in farming, ranching and the oil industry.

This is a campaign post card from his failed attempt for re-election to the governorship in 1970. It is addressed to Mr. & Mrs. O Wood of Claremore, OK and postmarked October 30, 1970 with an Oklahoma City stamp.

The card measures 4 by 5 inches and is in excellent condition but has brown stains on back from once being mounted in a wax-stipes scrap book. It has a 5¢, George Washington cancelled stamp.
