Rare James Kent Ltd 1930s Pottery – Pre-War Art Deco – Unlisted Design / Foley Shape

Uncommon J Kent Ltd mark was only used for 3 years between 1936-1939 (Source: Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks, G. A. Godden 1964, pg. 371).

The shape was used for the Foley Cydonia range, but this pattern is not part of the Foley range or James Kent for that matter.

Measures: 22.5cm in diameter

Possibly a limited production glaze experiment or a studio test or transitional design.

Condition: Excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, no crazing. There are some mis glaze spots however that adds to the abstract mottled effect of the piece.
