Batik Tulis is the most time consuming form of batiking where the original design is hand drawn in pencil before the wax is applied using a small copper reservoir with a little spout through which the wax is applied. This process is often repeated a number of times depending on the number 

of colours required. Real hand drawn Batik is recognisable by the fact that the colours show through on both sides of the fabric.
