It looks like my bypass operation was a success, so I am back in my workshop.

Happy New Year.

I AM HAPPY TO SHIP TO THE USA and most of the free world, please message me for postal cost

I have been looking at Kveik rings for a while and decided to make a Home Brewers friendly version at a Home Brew price. So as I have had years of experience in the timber industry I decided to make my own design of Kveik Ring, I only use the best Oak and will not release a ring until I am very happy with the finished item. It is my hobby to create interesting and unique Home Brewing wooden items, I like to think of them as an art form that brewers will be happy to own and use.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT MY CURRENT DISPACH TIME IS 7 DAYS DUE TO FAMILY ISSUES.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

First spray or dip the ring into your usual sanitizing solution as per its instructions.

Soak the Kveik Ring in water for at least 24 hrs in order to extract most of the tannin from the oak, this will turn the water brown as new oak contains a lot of tannin that has a bitter taste.

First time use pitch a packet of Kveik yeast into your brew, when the yeast has formed a good creamy head dip the ring into the head and remove.

Some of the creamy Kveik yeast will cling to the nooks, crannies and hollows in the ring.

Hang the ring up to drip over a bucket in a cool dry place, when dry store for next use. (I store mine in a vacuum bag)

To use again simply place into the next brew and leave until fermentation has produced another creamy head, remove the Kveik ring and hang over a bucket to dry, then store for next use.

I have added images of the above. It looks like I will never have to buy yeast again.

I am using the pictured Kveik Ring to see how many brews I can do with the original packet of Kveik Yeast.

This is a Handcrafted Kveik farmhouse ring made out of Oak and measures approx. 27 x 6cm.

This size ring is perfect for Home Brewers size batches and equipment.

This handmade kveik ring, is based on an original Medieval Viking farmhouse design from Norway.

These Rings are used to harvest live yeast from fermenting Beer/Mead to be dried and saved for use later batches, these traditional rings were used to save yeast strains keeping a yeast line true to its original strain.

Fully handcrafted, The pegs are cut from Oak and I use a traditional method that creates a massive surface area which allows for more of the yeast to engage with the ring allowing an efficient yeast harvest.

Traditionally the ring is hung over an open fermenter, dipped into the fermenting beer then pulled out and allowed to dry, later the brewer can drop the dried ring into a new batch of beer and the yeast will re-hydrate and ferment the next brew.

Please contact me if you would like other size rings, as each ring is hand crafted my turnaround time is around a week.

As with all natural hand crafted wood products slight imperfections make each piece unique, also due to the yeast harvesting nature the pegs are not smooth or polished as this expands the surface area.

It is not suitable for dishwashers, after use allow to dry naturally. the ring can be sanitised with the usual homebrew sanitisers or hot water if you want to keep traditional.
