Before clipping, make sure that your dog is washed and thoroughly dried. All tangles and matted areas must be brushed through to allow the clippers to glade through the hair. Ensure that the blade is always held flat and runs with the contour of the coat and never at an angle whilst clipping. When you start to clip, run a line of oil in between the blades wiping off the excess and then oil the blades frequently throughout clipping (ideally every 3 - 5 minutes) after brushing away loose hair from the blade.
