Striking burgundy/copper enamel design with gold filigreed on black leather. Measures 3.25” long x 2.5” wide. Signed on the back, circa 1980’s. Hard to find!
DONALD B. ANDRICK 1938-1996 BIO (artist profile taken from the October 1967 Ceramics Monthly magazine as part of an article written by Donald Andrick titled “The Grisaille Enameling Technique”)
“Donald B. Andrick graduated from the Akron Art Institute School of Design with majors in crafts and advertising. His work in enamels and ceramics has been exhibited in over 50 regional, national, and international shows, and numerous pieces are in museum and private collections in this country and abroad. Currently, Mr. Andrick is the enameling instructor at the Craft Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.” Overall, Donald (Don) Andrick was a Massachusetts artist, primarily associated with Worcester, working in enamels during the late 1950s through the 1970s. According to the newspaper article in the October 8, 1975, Morning Record out of Meriden, Connecticut, “Donald Andrick of Worcester, Massachusetts, works with enamel on copper. His works, which include jewelry, dishes, sculpture, and plaques, are in museum collections as well as private collections throughout the world.”
In addition, Andrick is listed in the 1975 Who’s Who In America.
