1969 Vintage Photo by KEYSTONE PRESS.  Westminster MP Bernadette Devlin is in tears after riot police had fired tear gas into a crowd behind barricades in Londonderry, Ireland.  Miss Devlin, who won the seat, yesterday protested that a military gas known as CS was being used by Ulster Police.  Josephine Bernadette McAliskey, usually known as Bernadette Devlin or Bernadette McAliskey, is an Irish civil rights leader, and former politician. She served as Member of Parliament for Mid Ulster from 1969 to 1974.
