A book that looks to be a first edition in very good to fine condition. Very rare in this edition and singularly rare to be found in this condition.
Golden brown boards with title and designs embossed in a bright golden. Corners are sharp, binding is tight, no soiling, some very light wear to corners and edges, a bit of wear and bumping to head/heel of spine, internally clean and unmarked save for a bookplate on front paste-down. Some light age tanning to edges of text block. Title page and half title page are starting to split and separate. It appears to be a first edition, dated as of 1897, no other statement as to edition.
Surprisingly bright covers and all in very good condition.
