It's usually the  smallest and least expensive parts that can cause the most  damage when they fail and your transmission's input shaft seal  is definitely one of those parts. A leaking input shaft seal can  not only cost you lots of gear oil but it can also sometimes  ruin your clutch disc if it gets saturated in the oil. Luckily  Elring, the OEM to both VW and Porsche, is still making this  part so you know you're getting the best possible seal for your transmission!
Do it once, do it right!

1 x 113311113A - Transmission Input Shaft Seal made by Elring (normally these are made in Germany however Elring sometimes moves production around so they may be made elsewhere in Europe)

Tech Notes:
This seal changed style over the years with the earlier versions  having an outer lip while the later versions do not - the  current seal from Elring is the later style with no lip. Both styles interchange without any modification.
