The Birds & The Frogs by Aristophanes, The Heritage Press, 1959 This book is one of a group of books I am listing published by The Heritage Press.  The book is Translated from the Greek by William James Hickie with an Introduction by Gilbert Seldes and Wood-Engravings by John Austen.  The Heritage Club Sandglass is included.

This medium hardcover book (8 x 11 ½ inches) is very unique because each side of the book has a separate story.  The front is titled The Frogs and the first 62 pages is that story.  When you flip to the back cover and rotate the book it is the front of The Birds and comprises 52 pages of the back of the book. It is split in the middle with thick “end pages” in the middle of the book.  It was published by The Heritage Press of New York. The book is off white paper covered boards with a blue and gold design on The Frogs cover and a red and gold design on The Birds cover.  There is a quarter spine in black cloth covered boards and a gold gilt title on the spine.  There are b & w illustrations throughout the book.

Condition:  This book is in very good condition.   The off white sleeve is discolored and quite marked up with some wear to the corners.  However, The Hardcovers are in very nice shape with very little wear.  Inside, the front endpaper of The Frogs has a prior owners name embossed on it (see photo). Otherwise, the pages are unmarked and clean and bright, from cover to cover.  Both hinges are fully intact and the binding is tight and sound.  This book is not ex-library or a remainder.

Shipping:  This book will be very carefully packed, with bubble wrap and solid cardboard protection and promptly mailed upon payment.  Please note that I do not charge for packing and handling; all you pay is the postage.  Media mail postage for this book will be only $3.79.  Within the US for domestic mailings, combined shipping for multiple purchases is gladly offered.
