JVGuitars has been making these aged pickguards and other parts since 1990 and we have perfected by trial end experiment the process over this time phasing in different - better top coating materials made to preserve and protect ours are tuff and are impervious to cleaning you can use alcohol or even lacquer thinner to ours and our aging patina grime and funk will not wipe off!  I wouldn't try that with our competitors pickguards  because they are made to will wipe right off hahaha but not ours.....The process we have developed is also more time consuming and the materials used in the development are top shelf and made to last a very long time if taken care of.
