Han  thnic Group. With a population of about 1.18 billion, the Han Ethnic Group is the largest among the 56 ethnic groups in China, making up about 92 percent of the total population.
The Han people are found in all parts of the country, but mainly in the reaches of the Yellow River,  the Yangtze River, and the Pearl River Deltas as well as the Songliao Plains. As the main ethnic group of China, Han developed from ancient Huaxia tribe by gradually merging with many other tribal clans and strengthened itself by
constantly assimilating various ethnic minorities in the process of its development. The Chinese regard themselves as the descendants of Yan and Huang, and describe the Yellow River as the cradle of their civilization development.
Mongol (or Mongolian) Ethnic Group.
As one of the ethnic minorities in China, Mongol was originally a branch of Siwei and had a relationship in origin with Donghu, Xianbei, Khitan and Shiwei. With a population of 5,813,947 (2000), Mongolian people are mainly istributed in such provinces (regions) as Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, Xinjiang, Heilongjiang, Qinghai, Hebei, Henan and Gansu. They have a written script of their own with their language belonging to the Mongolian group of Altaic phylum. They are chiefly engaged in farming and stockbreeding. In the early 23rd Century, Genghis Khan unified all the tribes in Mongolia.
Thereafter, Kublai Khan established the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368).
Black Joker:
Zang(or Tibet)Ethnic Group. with a population of 5,416,021(2000s), Tibetan people are distributed in Tibetan Autonomous Region, most parts of Qinghai Province and such provinces as Sichuan, Gansu and Yunnan. Tibetan grand monasteries represent and show their architecture. The Potala Palace in Lhasa is an outstanding example of Tibetan architecture following the style of traditional Tibetan houses, neat and orderly in appearance, practical for protection against wind and cold. Tibetans are good singers and dancers. Xai (gzhas), dominated by songs, is a kind of Tibetan folk dance. It’s a joyful dance performed in a group accompanied by gongs. Hand in hand, the dancers face each other, women on one side and men on the other, singing and dancing together.Man (or Manchu) Ethnic Group. More than 2,000 years ago, ancestors of the
Manchu people "Nuzhena" lived in the area to the north of the Changbai Mountains and in the downstream region of the Heilongjiang River in northeast China, which was called an area of "white mountains and black river". Manchu women wore a cheongsam with a straight skirt and broad sleeves. Later, this
kind of cheongsam gradually evolved into various styles, and became a feature of Chinese fashion. They had their own Manchu language. Since they later lived with the Han people and used the Han characters and spoken language, few people know the Manchu characters and spoken language today. Its population is 10,682,263.

With a population of 33,936 (2000), Achang ethnic group is one of the earliest people in Yunnan Province and famous for being good at growing rice and forging iron weapons such as cutting tools. In common with Dai ethnic minority, the Water-splashing Festival is the best opportunity for young people to choose a mate for life. Every the 24th day of the 16th lunar month is the Torch Festival. On that day, people enjoy rice noodles with pork and travel throughout their neighborhoods holding bright torches at night.; Spade K: Oroqen Ethnic Group. The Oroqen people with a population of 8,196 mainly live in Orogqen Qi, Hulumber League of Inner Mongolia, Huma and Xunke in Heilongjiang Province. The courageous and valiant Oroqen people have been
living in the virgin forest generation after generation, making their life by hunting. They have been called “forest people” "folks in the forest”, and “people on the summit”. All these names show a close relationship that they have with
the forests and mountains. The Oroqens are a hunting ethnic group, which is evidenced by their clothes, food, housing as weel as their songs and dance. ; Spade Q: Drung Ethnic Group. With the population of 7,426, Drung people live in Yunan Province. Drung people are called the People with High Morality--- Lost articles on streets are returned and doors are unlocked at night. The Drung people believe that there are spirits controlling their fortune and the change of nature, so they often worship for charming away ghosts.; Spade J: Dongxiang Ethnic Group. The Dongxiang ethnic minority derived their name from their native region - Dongxiang. With the population of 513,805, ongxiang people mainly inhabit Dongxiang Autonomous County in Gansu, with a small number in Xinjiang and Ningxia. Dongxiang people are called the Diligent Farmers with Proper Etiquette. Dongxiang people are very hospitable. Visitors
are greeted by the senior member of a family as distinguished guests and presented Bowl Tea.; Spade 10: Dong Ethnic Group: With the population of 2,960,293, the Dong ethnic minority lives primarily in the border regions between Guizhou, Hunan and Hubei Provinces. They are called the People Good at Building. They are very proud of
their artistic contribution to architecture. Wind and Rain Bridge and Drum Tower are well renowned their elaborate structural design.)
