The egg was developed by a licensed massage therapist in a clinical environment, who early in his career was experiencing frequent hand pain.

The egg's ergonomically shaped handle heals the therapist by reducing stress on the thumb and related joints.  It also alleviates pressure on the median and ulnar nerves.
