Cancelled by 1st class Post office according to the rules, no postal agencies had any dated cancel. Their marking was supposed to be on the left side of the franking. Usually a corner of the local store was the place to buy the stamps and drop their mail in the box, no other postal service was given. Many types of markings exist and their styles were changed by the French from Gothic lettering to Latin, boxed and not, and altered German types. One very seldom sees these cancels for sale and your favored dealer most likely never saw one from the Saar.
