Victorian Leather Cartridge Pouch - Fraziers Patient National Guards
This ammunition pouch was used in the Indian wars and has a United States National Guards badge
Inside the leather pouch is a compartment used to store bullets
The inside leather is stamped:
'Frazier's Patent
February 5th 1858
Reissued March 5th 1878
Patent April ----'
'Frazier's were an American company based in New Jersey that specialised in the manufacture of cartridge pouches'
The other stamp reads:
'Ridabock &Co
successors to:
J.H McKenney &Co
New York'
'Ridabock & Co were the manufacturers and importers of the finest quality of United States Army and National Guard officers uniforms and equipment.'
Ridabock purchased McKenney in 1881, dating this item as 1880s.
