DESCRIPTION:  Offered at auction is a RARE Spalding "Mickey" Mantle Special Model baseball bat! We discovered this bat among the contents of an estate here in Chesapeake, Virginia. Made from hardwood -- and exhibits bat boy repairs made with nails back in the 1950s or 1960s [we carefully removed the black tape that covered the repairs]. Measures 34" long. This is a 2-pound bat, but the repairs add just under an additional 1 ounce. Yes -- this bat is a great candidate for professional restoration. A great addition to your Mickey Mantle, The Commerce Comet, The Mick or New York Yankees major league baseball team memorabilia collection!   

CONDITION DETAILS:  GOOD. Has a contemporary crack with contemporary bat boy repairs with nails. We spent considerable time removing the 60-year-old black tape used to cover the repairs. Black painted graphics are approx. 90% - 95% complete.
