CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
A CHRONICLE OF PROGRESS
JOHN LEYKAM
If they could see it now, the early settlers of Contra Costa County - determined men and women of a wide range of ethnic, social, and occupational backgrounds - would be bowled over by the complexity and dynamism of their cherished county.
Those early settlers could not have imagined today's sleek and swift commuter trains; crowded freeways with, at some points, five lanes of traffic in each direction; huge office parks, futuristic in form, with state-of-the-art technology; and housing of every conceivable shape, size, and price range available to accommodate a population that grows larger and more diverse each day.
This lively narrative, researched and written by John Leykam, captures the spirit of Contra Costa County as never before. Enhanced by more than 150 full color photographs, the book is sure to become a treasured addition to any library.
This book is very clean - no written, torn or curled pages.
Has some normal light surface scratches and smudges on the dust jacket that you can see when turned in the light as well as a 2" x 1/4" piece of clear scotch tape stuck to the back. Not sure how it got there but afraid to peel it off so as not to damage the dust jacket.
