A multi-faceted musical statement by these
important, beloved artists, "Three-Way Mirror" is also a tribute to the
late jazz master, Joe Farrell. The recording sessions that captured
these performances were unfortunately his last.
Featured on flute, alto and tenor sax, Farrell is joined by the
incomparable percussionist Airto Moreira, with electric bass by Mark
Egan, Kei Akagi on piano, and trademark vocals by Flora Purim. Airto
and Flora also contribute two original Brazilian pieces with members of
their current touring band, guitarist Jose Neto and Randy Tico playing
a unique fretless acoustic bass.
REFERENCE RECORDINGS is a well known audiophile label. Indeed "Professor Keith O. Johnson" has been associated with many cutting edge recording examples / techniques not only on the software side of the business, but in the hardware side as well - the highly known and respected "Spectral" brand name comes to mind immediately.
Their music software (both CD and LP) competes with the likes of other grand audiophile labels such as; MFSL, Sheffield Lab, Wilson Audio, Opus 3, Mark Levinson, Proprius, etc..
