Aluminium Solar Reflective Roof Paint is an economical, traditional, solar reflective coating suitable for application to bituminous roofing substrates, such as roofing felt, for protection against the sun and weathering of roofs, particularly where bituminous, exposed steel and corrugated iron surfaces are encountered.

Suitable for use on roofs that are subject to standing rain water

Two coats should be applied

Apply the second coat 24 hours after the first coat

The rate of application is between 5 - 10 m/2 per litre per coat depending on the condition of the surface.

5 litres covers between 25 m/2 - 50 m/2 overall so 2 coat coverage = 12.5 m/2 - 25 m/2 depending on surface condition

25 litres covers between 125 m/2 - 250 m/2 overall so 2 coat coverage = 62.5 m/2 - 125 m/2 depending on surface condition

Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dust and debris

Freshly applied bitumen coatings should be allowed to weather for at least 3 - 5 days prior to the application of this product

For use on Roofing Felt we recommend you prime the surface using Bitumen Primer (available separately) prior to applying the first coat

Note: The appearance of a silver film on the surface of the paint after a short period of stirring does not signify that the paint is thoroughly uniform. It is advisable to stir for several minutes to ensure complete dispersion. Preference should be given to mechanical stirring

Two coats should be applied, the first being allowed to dry before application of the second

To avoid bronzing it is important that this product is not applied too thickly

Do not brush excessively as this can cause softening of the substrate

The presence of moisture on the surface caused by rain falling before the Aluminium Paint has dried can also cause bronzing

Do not use in temperatures less than + 5 degrees c

By brush or airless spray

Store away from children.

Containers must be kept sealed and stored under cover away from sources of heat and ignition

Clean with White Spirit.

Do not allow water to contaminate the Aluminium Paint

Up to 72 hours dependent on the ambient temperature

12 months under good storage conditions in original unopened containers
