Rare 1940's Choir Boy Double Sided Pumpkin Ceiling Light Fixture--hard to find
This is a Rare 1940's Choir Boy Double Sided Pumpkin Ceiling Light Fixture. It is made in made in America and is very hard to find and has been in my personal Vintage and Antique Halloween Collection for over 41 years. This is a rare and very unique and hard to find Pumpkin Ceiling light fixture that has a metal bracket on the top for hanging as a pumpkin light fixture over a single socket light bulb.
I have never seen this item listed on Ebay and have never seen this in any Halloween Catalogue. I remember seeing this in a Dilworth, MN basement house in 1949 when I was 9 years old and this was a most memorable occasion because it is so unusual and then I found one at an estate sale in 1977 when I was 37 years old.
It measures 7 1/4 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches wide; it is in good condition. There is no paper insert as this American-made pumpkin lighting fixture design is a light fixture so no paper insert was created in this design. The design has an open bottom to assist in light dispersion as a ceiling fixture light and to eliminate heat.
There is a small black number "10" written on the right lower side as seen in the last picture. I was told this was from the retail dime store that was selling this in the 1940's.
