This 4 cup separator is a strainer and can do gravies, stock, and sauces. The best thing about these separators are their ability to separate fat from food. The fatty liquids will rise to the top in a light colored layer and you can pour from the bottom, where the actual ingredients are located. The Strainer has a dripless spout and has standard and metric markings.
