5 Saniflo Problems and How To Fix Them

  • You may not need to replace an old Saniflo unit.
  • Below are five common problems associated with Saniflo brand macerators and some quick tips on how you can fix them.
top-5-saniflo-problems

The Saniflo Is Giving Off A Terrible Smell

  • Bad smells can be due to a build-up of limescale and human waste in the 2-3 inches of water that s always left in the Saniflo.
  • Other Macerator brands have self-cleaning technology, but Saniflo s need to be descaled regularly.
  • If you ve never descaled your macerator then you may have to do this a few times to clear the smell.

The Saniflo Keeps Tripping The Electrics

  • If your Saniflo is tripping the electrics, it usually means that water is getting into it and leads to the circuit shutting off to avoid any other damages, or there s a loose wire.
  • Always make sure the electrics are off before you inspect the pump. If there s an issue with the motor seal, then call a certified Saniflo engineer to repair it.
  • If the motor is worn or faulty, this unfortunately means that you ll have to purchase a new macerator.
Electric Shock Risk

Saniflo Leaks During Operation

  • One reason for your Saniflo leaking from the vent could be that there is a big build up of waste inside which will have to be manually removed.
  • It s also possible that the motor is nearing the end of its life and can t work as hard as it used to.
  • This would mean the whole macerator should be replaced.
  • The rubber waste outlet could have shrunk because of too much toilet cleaner. If water is spraying out the vent, you will need to replace the rubber waste outlet.

The Saniflo Starts On Its Own

  • There could be a few reasons as to why your pump keeps starting on its own throughout the day and night: (Excluding the possibility of a ghost!)
  • The microswitch is misfiring because it keeps thinking the tank is full you will have to manually remove the waste between the switch and the tank floor and then reset the pump.
  • If the rubber membrane is damaged, waste can then get into the switch and cause a problem.
  • In this case, you will have to purchase a new rubber membrane and switch.

Saniflo Vibrates & Buzzes Loudly

  • If when flushing the toilet you hear a horrible vibrating noise, there s probably something that has been lodged in the macerator blade.
  • Turn off the Saniflo and remove the lid. If you see an obstruction straight away, remove it.
  • If the foreign object is in the blade you can remove it using small pliers.

Ideally suited to a kitchen or utility room, the Sanivite+ powerful pump has four inlets for connection to domestic sinks and appliances. With compact dimensions, Sanivite+ can be concealed in a kitchen unit or behind a demountable panel in bathroom suites to give access for servicing. This model is designed to plough through even the toughest of waste from the kitchen or utility room. Sanvite+ is constructed from a high-tech pressure chamber that will stop and start the unit and the motor, which then activates the pump. When the water from your appliances enters the Sanvite+, it starts up the motor within the chamber, this then drives the blades which mash up the waste into pure liquid and eventually is pumped into a drainage system.

This Macerator is manufactured by Saniflo, the UK's leading brand for macerators, therefore you know that you're in good hands, however, if you do find anything wrong with your product you're covered by a fantastic 5-year guarantee against all factory defects, just for that added peace of mind after installation

IMPORTANT: Check your eBay account has a valid day time telephone number prior to ordering as our courier may need this to arrange delivery of your item.

You can update your telephone number by following these steps:

1. Go to My eBay > Account
2. Click Personal Information
3. Click Edit on registered name and address.

Please be aware that all delivery times quoted are based on when your order leaves the warehouse and NOT from the time you originally placed your order. Due to this we ask that you do not arrange to have an installer on site until after your order has arrived and you have checked the goods. We cannot pay installation costs in the event that the product is damaged in transit or is not suitable for any reason, so it is important to double check everything is in order before you begin the installation process

In the unfortunate event that a product cannot be delivered within the quoted timescale we will contact you to make you aware and give you the opportunity to change your order.

Delivery Methods:
We use a number of proven couriers to deliver your order, and the courier responsible for delivery will depend on what you order and where your order is being delivered to. After your order is dispatched we will let you know what courier is handling your delivery. We will also supply you with tracking information so you can immediately locate your order in the delivery process, alongside contact information for the carrier responsible. Orders placed after 2PM with next day delivery selected will not be processed until the following day and then  dispatched  for delivery the day after.

If your carrier is UK Mail you have the option to use their interactive SMS and email service to reschedule your delivery to a day that is suitable for you. It can also send you a 'You're Next' text when the driver is one delivery away.

Q - Can I make you an offer for an item?
A - We do not accept offers for single items as we strive to offer the UK's most competitive prices in the first place.  For bulk or trade orders please contact us by message or phone as we may be able to offer you a discount.

Checking goods for damage and notifying us
For small item deliveries that arrive with carriers please inspect the goods as soon as possible after the delivery to ensure they are as per your order. Any delay in reporting problems to us could affect your right to a refund.
For bulky deliveries that arrive on pallets you agree to check the goods for damage before signing the drivers delivery note. If you do not check the goods and sign to confirm they were received in good condition the driver will not leave them and they will be returned to us. They will not accept delivery notes marked with the words unchecked or any other term designed to obviate the need to check the delivery before signing for it. If the driver refuses to wait while you check the goods then you must refuse to accept the delivery and either call or email us with the details as soon as possible.

If someone else is signing for the goods on your behalf you agree to advise them that the goods must be checked and you accept full responsibility for any loss or damage if they sign on your behalf and fail to check. You agree to indemnify us in full for any losses we suffer as a result of you or your agent accepting goods and signing a delivery note without thoroughly checking the goods for damage.
