Strange But True: Stories of Many Things elected and with an introduction by Phyllis Fenner and Mary McCrea, 1970  From the introduction, “The true stories in this book have been chosen with the idea of interesting the children in further reading.  They have been tested with children of different ages, grades, and abilities who were finding reading a difficult task.  Their reactions show that the selections had a very high interest as well as an easy reading level.”
