ORIGIN: ROCKY MOUNT, VIRGINIA. Located in Franklin County, Virginia. The feed sacks I have listed at auction once contained feed purchased at various feed mills located in the vicinity of Rocky Mount, Virginia.
AGE: c. 1930s - 1940s
ITEM: RED AND PURPLE FLORAL PATTERN FEED SACK. This feed sack is made of a red and grey floral pattern! Such feed sacks were constructed of decorated print cloths that the farmer’s wife could recycle into dresses, bedding, curtains, towels, dish cloths and other household items. Made of durable cotton, items made from feed sacks can last decades. This sack will make a nice wall hanging, pillow case, craft project item – the possibilities are endless! We obtained a few sacks from the Boone family, and are selling them on their behalf. A nice addition to your early Virginia textiles collection!
