This is backed up by books, such as "Famous Doctors' Accounts authored by Do Hong Gyung in the Yang Dynasty and A New Collection of Farming & Harvest Guides, which reads, "Baekje's ginseng has a slim shape in white color and firm flesh, while Goryeo's ginseng has a fragile flesh in a larger size, inferior to the former... Baekje's ginseng is of a solid, round shape in white Goryeo's counterpart is light purple colored, weak and Silla's product is yellowish and slightly flavorsome.

It is evident that ginseng of Baekje's origin is accredited to have the best quality. It is probably not a coincidence that Geumsan, in which was the territory of the Baekje Kingdom, has been regarded as the most famous area that produces Goryeo ginseng.

Goryeo ginseng belongs to a family of neutral plants that favor cool, dry weather, and grows well at 0.9 C -13.8 TC in annual average, at 10 C 25 C during summer seasons, with precipitation of 1200mm, under the conditions of relatively low snowfalls, and in sandy loams and clay on and below the surface of ground. Considering all of the aspects above, Geumsan is where ginseng grows well, and produces world class ginseng.

GAP (Good Agricultural Practices)
GAP certified ginseng is strictly managed in a series of processes from growing. harvesting to managing steps, so as to avoid contamination from chemicals or heavy metals. The entire processes are also made public. for example, soil or water are subject to tests of 28 items before the crops are grown, and chemical residues are tested several times during the period of cultivation. A harvest of ginseng is sanitarily packed at a GAP facility, bundles of which are individually certification numbered and then forwarded.

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
GMP specifies the standards of products in the course of manufacturing, QC and processing for the purpose of safety and hygiene. Geumhong ginseng products strictly follow GMP and are prevented from any possible defects or quality deterioration from microorganism or cross-contamination. 

Geum Hong Appraisal Committee
The Appraisal Committee screens all of ginseng products made in Geumsan according to the criteria of testing, analysis and facilities and if found to be conformable, they a approved for use by the Chief of Geumsan Country for sale in the market.
