A broken book with some extraordinary engravings, best seen perhaps as a collection of plates. No boards or full title. Contents include electricity, shells, mathematics, mining/excavating, astronomy and more. Begins with 179pp., a complete section. Then the text is more broken up with pages p.183-280, p.323-364, & p.395-508 missing. Ends on p.610, incomplete. So, much here, much missing, 15 splendid plates altogether. Text and plates are clean and neat, brighter than they appear in the photographs, on lovely laid paper.
