Updated from November 2024 Kit now comes with a PCB, larger resistors and new instructions which makes it easier to build.

Full kit of parts to make a Fuzz Face pedal clone based on the silicon version (Jimi Hendrix Blue Edition)

Drilled Case, Knobs, Footswitch, Pots, Sockets, Printed Circuit Board marked with part locations, Components, Wire + Battery Clip

A customer has made an honest review of building the kit (previous stripboard version without the case) see the video at the bottom of this listing.

Kit contains high quality parts including a Hammond branded case, Alpha branded pots, Panasonic audio grade capacitors for the electrolytics and a metalised film for the non electrolytic, chunky 1/2watt carbon film resistors that make it easier to read the colour codes.  Tinned copper stranded wire.
Genuine Motorola/Fairchild Transistors, sockets made of thick metal.  These parts cost more than the cheap generic chinese parts but are more reliable and improve the sound quality.

The kit has been fully revised with 6 A4 pages of instructions with clear full colour photos and schematics and wiring diagrams.

There is a lot of information on the internet about building these.  It is not for the absolute beginner as you will need to solder.  However as far as effects pedals go it doesn't get a lot simpler.

All the parts are included except for a battery (you need a standard 9v one).  I have made a pedal using the same parts and it sounds very nice!  There is a link to a recording of one I made near the end of the listing (yes I know the guitar playing is bad!)

The case is drilled to take the volume and tone control pots, the footswitch and the 2x 1/4" jack sockets

The parts included are listed below:

Large Parts
1 x Case – Ready drilled alloy 1590b sized case
1 x Footswitch : A standard 3 pole dual throw switch.   Good quality and allows “true bypass”, that is sending the signal around the fuzz when it's turned off.
Sockets:
1 x 3 pole 1/4” jack socket, 3 pole acts as a switch (thick metal sockets)
1 x 2 pole 1/4” jack socket

Components
PCB with part locations marked on the board
2 x 2N2904 NPN transistors
2 x 3 pin transistor sockets (so you can swap transistors and you cannot damage the transistors by soldering)
All resistors (low noise where possible):
All capacitors:
  1 x 22uf Panasonic for Audio type
  1 x 2.2uf Panasonic for Audio type
  1 x 0.01uf Polyester box capacitor
1 x 100k Log pot for volume control made by Alpha (pot shafts are the correct length so the knobs do not stick out from the case)
1 x 1k Linear pot for drive control
made by Alpha
2 x big knobs
9v Battery Clip
Hookup wire in various colours

The only extras you should need are:
LED Option
I have left off the LED light. For 2 reasons:
1 It adds complexity
2 It draws more power than the fuzz circuit!

You could add one using the 3rd pole of the switch.  I have added an extra page to the instructions showing how to add an LED and a DC socket, you can buy the parts for these cheaply.
You can power this via a mains adaptor but you will need to drill a hole and add a socket to do this.

The case can be primed and painted with car paint, or something like hammerite which you dont need primer for.  Another option is to give it a brushed finish with sandpaper.  Or you can leave it as it is.
