This course is for students who are about to study a foreign language. If you have a solid understanding of the rules and terms of English grammar, you can transfer this knowledge to the grammar of the foreign language you are learning. You will be able to better understand the grammar rules of the foreign language if you can compare it to the knowledge you have about English grammar.

Unit 1 - Parts of Speech

You will study nouns, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, verbs, prepositions, and conjunctions in order to review the different parts of speech. Mastery requires a score of 85 percent on activities.


Unit 2 - Sentence Structure

You will study subjects, predicates, direct objects, indirect objects, and subject complements in order to understand how a sentence is grammatically put together. To achieve mastery, you are required to score 85 percent on the activities.


Unit 3 - Characteristics of Our Speech

You will review common characteristics of our speech, including voice, compound and complex sentences, idioms, rhetorical questions, and parallelism in order to understand some complexities of language. Again, mastery requires an accuracy of 85 percent on activities.
