Measuring V belts is very difficult but also is very important. I suggest that if the old belt is no longer usable you cut it and lay it out straight then measure it otherwise use a cloth measuring tape to go around the outside of the belt. Be sure and mark the beginning point. 

The dimension given for v belt is the outside of the belt unless otherwise stated. 

Note:  even though the part number may be correct there are times that the belt will not fit so it is important that the old one is measured. It is the responsibility of the buyer to buy the correct length belt.
