This genuine used very late 1950s or early 1960s dress pattern can be great for casual, work, or evening depending upon the fabric chosen and how you choose to accessorize it.  Its' understated elegance makes it a classic that can be worn today! Advance 8874 Size 14 Bust 33 Hip 36.  Own a piece of fashion history and wear it too! Classic style is always in fashion.

Complete pattern and primer for "Sew Easy" Dress:  Blouson bodice buttons in front.  New Big collar.  Set-in sleeves edged with contrast trim.  Tie bow also of contrast.  Slim skirt has soft folds at side fronts. Back walking pleat.  Side seam zipper.  V2 is sleeveless. The envelope shows wear typical of age with a few small tears at the corners. The graphics are still bright and lovely. There is no copyright date on this pattern. This would make a fun and easy to make addition to your collection!

Use the bust measurement to determine the size you need. Pattern sizes do not correspond to retail ready-to-wear sizes. Take bust measurement across the widest part of your back and around fullest part of you bust. This will not be the same as your bra size, which is the band measurement just under the bust. There are many tutorials available on the internet if you would like more information about proper measuring techniques.

Note: I'd like buyers to understand that these patterns are Vintage. As such, they are not pristine. Even those items that are in great shape considering their age will have some minor flaws simply due to age and general use of the item. Old patterns usually have discoloration, foxing, tears, splits, writing, stamps, stickers, pinholes, or "old book" smell (I do not mean mildewy. That is something I would specifically mention) to some degree. I do my best to describe my items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability, flaws and all.  What I may consider to be a gorgeous and interesting vintage item, may not meet your same criteria.  I think the notes written on the patterns by those who used them so long ago add such character and life. To me, these patterns smell like a library and remind me of story-time in elementary school.  I do not attempt to clean, restore, or repair vintage items because I would not want to damage them nor interfere with the story they have to tell. I will leave that decision to you. Please keep all of this in mind when you are bidding on my auctions and remember that vintage is just that...Vintage!
