Melling improved the standard volume Ford Modular DOHC V8 Cobra oil pump. Updates to the housing, cover, and components work together to improve the performance and durability of the oil pump. Updating the cover material to phosphate coated cast iron improves performance by increasing the pressure tightness of the pump. It can be used in any Ford application that uses Melling’s stock replacement M227 oil pump.

This pump can be used as a higher volume, high pressure pump (8% increase in flow and 20 psi increase in pressure) for the SOHC applications that use the M176 pump.
** Please note that the inlet of this pump is 1/8” larger requiring a 15/16” diameter pickup tube.
