PME TOOLS - Various
All tools are brand new in sealed packaging, double-ended and
approximately 165mm long (the only exceptions being the Scriber Needle
tool and Design Wheeler tool).
For best results when making sugar
craft flowers we recommend Sugar Florist Paste (SFP) although all of
PME’s modelling tools are ideal for use with a wide range of edible
materials such as sugar paste, petal paste, marzipan, Mexican paste etc.
- DRESDEN FLOWER/LEAF SHAPER-perfect for veining of leaves/petals! This tool is ideal when shaping and veining flowers, leaves and general modelling when using gum paste, sugar paste, marzipan and similar materials.
- 5/6 STAR TOOL-great for even petal spacing! - This tool is used as a simple star embosser and is ideal for creating centres of 5 or 6 petal flowers or used as petal dividers.
- BALL TOOL - ideal for frilling (also great for making the inside of Teddy Bear ears!) With this tool you can add simple but effective detail to enhance your cakes, flowers and models. An essential tool for flower modelling, used to cup and shape leaves, petals and frills. The small size is ideal for creating detail on marzipan figures e.g. eye sockets, hands and ears.
- SCALLOP & COMB TOOL-brilliant for hair effects! This tool can be used to cut scalloped edge cut circular holes in plaques and emboss mouth shape on faces. It can also be used to mark dotted lines to represent stitching or score parallel lines.
- BULBOUS CONE TOOL-for the inside of flowers! - A versatile tool which can be used to do a number of different things from hollowing out shapes to embossing. The bulbous cone works very well when rolled over icing paste to create a frilled effect.
- BLADE & SHELL- The blade end is ideal for cutting and shaping the sugar paste or clay. The Shell end is great for adding patterns and texture. It’s a great tool for cutting your paste without damaging your board.
- SCRIBER NEEDLE - This tool can be used for scribing (marking) patterns and dots on icing.
- 3-HEAD DESIGN WHEELER - This tool has 3 interchangeable cutting wheels housed within; 1 plain, 1 serrated and 1 fluted wheel. Really useful for continuously cutting a smooth line in modelling or flower work.
- BONE TOOL - The bone tool is used to thin, smooth and frill the edges of leaves, flower petals and frills. It can also be used to create round indentations in figures such as making ear hollows.
- CUTTING WHEEL – Easily cuts paste without any mess.
- SERRATED/TAPER CONE - The serrated cone can be used to emboss star patterns or to mark divisions in tubular flowers.
- SCRIBER NEEDLE (THICK) - This tool can be used for scribing (marking) patterns and dots on icing. A thicker grade of needle for enhanced and larger scribed impressions.
- CRAFT KNIFE/INSERTION BLADE - A handy tool for all cake decorating and sugar craft projects. The craft knife has 2 interchangeable blades, a sharp pointed scalpel; ideal for cutting and trimming and a straight flat ended blade designed for use with sugar ribbon insertion and flower marking.
