Bio-Calcium + D3 + K1 + K2 uses a high percentage of elemental calcium in an easily absorbed form. Calcium and vitamin D contribute to the maintenance of normal bone in adults and the growth of bone in children. Older adults, in particular women around menopause, should have a daily intake of calcium to counteract the loss of bone mass which occurs in later life. Whilst young people need to build up strong bones at an early age.
Vitamin K helps support normal bone as well as contributing to normal blood clotting. Vitamin D also contributes to normal absorption of calcium and helps support normal blood calcium concentrations.
What is Calcium?
Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body, of which our bones and teeth store 99%. The remaining 1% present is in the blood and other bodily tissues. Our skeleton acts as a reservoir for calcium therefore our bones become depleted if our calcium intake is insufficient.
Calcium cannot be absorbed from the digestive system without vitamin D. Our bodies produce vitamin D when UV rays hit the skin; however, our bodies ability to produce vitamin D reduces with age. Vitamin K1 and K2 promote the uptake of calcium into bone tissue.
Calcium and Bones
The bones consist of living tissue that is constantly being replaced. The bone-forming cells are called osteoblasts and the bone-degrading cells are called osteoclasts. As bone tissue also functions as the body's calcium storage facility, it is particularly important that we absorb sufficient calcium in the bones. If the body gets too little calcium, the osteoclasts are activated which breaks down bone tissue to cover the body's need for calcium.

Directions
1-3 tablets daily or as recommended by a physician. Do not exceed recommended amount.
