Waterbased Epoxy Coating, damproofer and sealer in 2.5 and 5L

ASK WATERBASED EPOXY is water based epoxy coating suitable for all applications where concrete or masonry requires waterproofing and protection. It is applied in the same manner as ordinary emulsion paint with the added benefit of application in damp conditions. Once dried ASK WATERBASED EPOXY leaves a tough, non toxic, waterproof, easy to clean surface.

Uses

As a membrane to prevent rising damp in floors.
As a general waterproofing and decorative finish for all brick, concrete, cement and masonry surface.
For application to damp surfaces where other paints cannot adhere.
As a sealing coat for asbestos containing materials.
Wall coating in areas of food manufacture and storage. i.e. Dairies, Grain Silos, Breweries.
As a tank lining for protection against mild chemicals.

Curing

Tough cure - 4 Hours.
Hard dry in 12 Hours.
Maximum cure in 8 Days.
The lower the temperature the longer the cure.
Once cured can withstand pressure washing, steam cleaning and washing with sterilizing liquids.

Coverage and storage

Coverage is approximately 7 square metres per 1 litre. This may be reduced on rougher more porous surfaces.
Store in original containers. Protect from frost.
Shelf life of 12 months.

Packaging

Two part product which when mixed gives 5 litres, containing 2.5 litres and 1 litre. Clean, easy to use, recyclable packagings.

Cleaning equipment

If using spray equipment, rinse thoroughly with cold water frequently to avoid build up of cured paint. Brushes and rollers should be washed in cold water and mild detergent.

Storage

Store in a sealed container between +5°C and +30°C. Protect from frost and direct sunlight.

Preparation, Mixing and Application

Surfaces to be filled must be clean and free from all foreign matter such as grease, dust and loose or flaking paint.
A two part product– simply mix pack B into Pack A stirring continuously and add water to fill line. As easy to use as ordinary emulsion paint, apply using a brush, roller or spray. 2nd coat should be applied as soon as 1st coat is touch dry.
Mix either by use of a slow speed drill, paddle or by hand. If by hand wear protective gloves and keep damp.
Do not mix more material than can be used in 20 minutes
Immediately after mixing press the Epoxy Putty into the joint sides with a trowel or palette knife to obtain maximum contact. A smooth finish can be achieved by tooling with a wet stick or knife.
The material will not slump in joints up to 20mm wide by 20mm deep. Joints to be sealed should not be less than 6mm wide by 5mm deep.
