SECOND, I would like to be up front and honest.  Virtually ALL washable type / re-useable type filters are NOT MERV rated!  They simply do not perform well under the industry standard MERV test.  This is why you don't see MERV ratings on this listing and you DON'T see them on virtually all other washable OR ELECTROSTATIC filters offered on Ebay.   They just can't perform well enough to get a good solid beneficial test using the MERV standard.  Plain and simple!  However, if you're not overly concerned with sub-micron particles and want to save money, these washable permanent ELECTROSTATIC filters are an EXCELLENT alternative!  You can save a lot of money in the long run by washing and re-using these filters instead of disposing of costly pleated filters month after month and year after year.

THIRD, feel free to review all of the other claims and info on the "other" electrostatic washable filters on Ebay, EVEN THE BoAir BRAND.  They brag about their filters having a restriction value of 0.10" w.g. with the new clean filter.  (That's a measure of how much restriction the filter places upon your unit's fan/motor to suck the air through it.  Our filters have just 0.08" w.g. initial resistance!  THAT MEANS OURS IS LESS RESTRICTIVE TO AIRFLOW ALLOWING YOUR UNIT TO RUN EASIER AND SAVE YOU ON ENERGY COSTS!

CONSTRUCTION: This Low Resistance Electrostatic Filter meets manufacturer specifications for low initial resistance to air flow. A combination of woven polypropylene and unique high loft polypropylene enclosed in a nominal 1" or nominal 2" metal frame.

These filters are recommended to be washed out every 4 to 6 weeks.  Simply remove your filter and use a vacuum or light air hose to remove dust. Then, use water to rinse the opposite direction of the airflow that you had the filter installed. If necessary, a light cleaner such as mild dish or laundry soap can be used to remove cigarette smoke residue or other things that may adhere to the filter. Rinse the filter out very well, allow it to dry (a hairdryer on low comes in handy!) and put it back in your unit.  Do not leave your filter out in direct sunlight or high heat situations for anylong  period of time, and never use oil or other chemical sprays on this type of filter.


The 1" version has 4 layers of lifetime expanded aluminum and 2 layers of electrostatic filter media for a total 6 STAGE FILTRATION!.  The 2" version has 5 layers of lifetime expanded aluminum and 2 layers of electrostatic media for a 7 STAGE FILTRATION!


Researchers now agree there may be a greater number of irritating pollutants indoors than outdoors.  The result is recirculated stale air contaminated by dust, fibers, fumes, cleaning chemicals and solvents, bacteria and mold.  These invisible particles are causing you the discomfort and irritation of itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, wheezing and other adverse reactions.  Electrostatic air filters use air and static electricity to capture airborne particles. There are no electrical connections or system modifications needed.  The air flow from your home's ventilation system moves steadily over the filter media, enhancing its charge field.  As airborne particles approach the charge field, they are drawn into the media and held until the filter is cleaned.  If you desire maximum efficiency, set your unit to run the fan constantly so that the air is continuously recirculating through the filter.

CLEANABILITY - To gain top efficiency from your

Filter, simply dust off excess dirt, flush out under hot
water and replace. A mild detergent can be used if required.
There’s no need for oils or adhesives. Because of the
Aluminum material in the filter, DO NOT use a strong Alkali
Solution. Drain holes are punched in the bottom to allow
for proper drainage after cleaning. After cleaning, it’s

Other competing brands do everything they can to "cheapen-up" their filters so they can make more profit.  To top it off, they not only make their filters with cheaper materials, they charge you, the consumer more too!  Crazy isn't it?  Hard to believe, but it is true.  Please allow us to explain!
We use 100% aluminum in all of the metals in our filters.  Aluminum will never rust and is extremely hard to corrode for this application. 

1. THEY USE CHEAP GALVANIZED STEEL ON BOTH THE OUTER FRAME AND THE EXPANDED METAL GRIDS!  DON'T BELIVE IT, THE MAGNET PROVES IT AS A MAGNET WILL STICK TO CHEAP GALVANIZED BUT WILL NOT STICK TO OUR ALUMINUM FILTERS!

2. THEY ALSO ONLY USE 1 SINGLE RIVET TO HOLD YOUR ENTIRE FILTER TOGETHER.  WE USE A MORE EXPENSIVE AND MORE TIME CONSUMING 2 RIVETS WHICH GIVES YOU A MUCH STURDIER FILTER!

3. THEY TAKE SUPER CHEAP AND INEXPENSIVE BULK POLYESTER FILTER MATERIAL THAT COSTS ABOUT 10 CENTS PER SQUARE FOOT (If you have a 20x25 filter, that means about $0.33, yes just 33 cents worth of poly filter material in it) AND THEY SIMPLY WRAP A METAL FRAME AROUND IT, SANDWICH IT BETWEEN SOME GRIDS AND CALL IT A GREAT ELECTROSTATIC HIGH QUALITY AIR FILTER!  TOTALLY RIDICULOUS AND I AM TIRED OF SEEING PEOPLE GETTING RIPPED OFF!  WHAT THEY SELL FOR $35.00 TO $50.00 IS REALLY NOT MUCH DIFFERENT THAN A $1.00 CHEAP FILTER FROM THE HARDWARE STORE WITH THE SAME FILTER MATERIAL IN THE MIDDLE!

4. THEY CLAIM A MERV 8 RATING. THIS IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST AND FRAUDULENT LIES GOING IN THE FILTER BUSINESS.  TO GET AN OFFICIAL MERV RATING, A FILTER SHOULD BE PURCHASED ON THE OPEN MARKET, BY A TESTING LABORATORY (to prevent the manufacturer from making a "special" or doctored-up filter) and then tested with regards to the E1, E2 and E3 categories regarding particle size ranges. Dust feed rate, humidity, temperature and many other factors go into MERV testing to assure consumers it is a valid test with equal results.  Ask any washable filter manufacturer for a copy of their OFFICIAL MERV TEST REPORT that shows you the Laboratory name, Lab phone number, Test report number, date and time tested, showing purchased on the open market and call the laboratory to verify it is real.  YOU WILL NEVER GET IT FROM THEM BECAUSE IT DOES NOT EXIST (or they do have the test and it performs so poorly they do not want it public or published)!  Anyone can make up a fake sheet, put a "Corporate Seal" on it and make it look official and say whatever they want...but THAT IS NOT A MERV TEST!  Sorry to be so blunt, but I am tired of consumers being deceived when it comes to these washable filters!  In fact, there are CEO's and owners of some of my competition's filters that have been charged with a felony for diluting chemicals that were made to kill off deadly viruses like AIDS and MERSA.  You can do your own research and decide if you want to trust the claims by other manufacturers if they do things like that and intentionally deceive with bogus product claims!  Just Google search the following words to see the public information for yourself from the FBI:

5. DO NOT LET OUR LOWER PRICE FOOL YOU!  OUR FILTER IS:
  • MADE BETTER WITH HEAVIER METAL THICKNESS
  • MADE BETTER WITH NON-CORROSIVE ALUMINUM INSTEAD OF CHEAP GALVANIZED STEEL THAT WILL RUST OVER TIME.
  • MADE BETTER WITH 2 RIVETS HOLDING IT TOGETHER
  • MADE BETTER WITH HIGHER QUALITY INTERNALS AND NOT CHEAP CHAIR PAD STUFFING (THEIR WHITE POLY CENTER)
  • MUCH LOWER AIRFLOW RESISTANCE (THEY CLAIM 0.12" W.G. RESISTANCE BUT THAT IS JUST FOR THE FILTER MATERIAL IN THE MIDDLE, NOT THE ENTIRE FILTER!

Difference between ALUMINUM (OUR FILTERS) and galvanized STEEL(THEIR FILTERS) Aluminum is a metal, and it has all the attributes of metal – that are: It is ductile, AND  corrosion resistant. Aluminum is also weather resistant.  Whereas galvanized STEEL is obtained, carbon steel is dipped in molten zinc which clings onto the steel like a thin film. Steel is an alloy of iron, and known for its strength, and used as a construction or building material. It can corrode, and in ORDER to make it anti corrosive the galvanization process of steel is necessary.

Regarding various industrial apparatuses, aluminum is preferred over galvanized steel due to its increased performance..

Aluminum products are also preferred over galvanized steel due to their anti bacterial properties and easy to clean nature, especially when there is foodstuff involved. As compared to hard and smooth aluminum surfaces, galvanized steel surfaces are porous and rough, which can hold and accumulate bacterial growth and contaminate food processing.  Would you really want to use a filter made with Galvanized metal?  Or, a higher quality metal that keeps you and your home a safer environment with regards to air quality?  Not to mention, ours will not rust, corrode and degrade over time and multiple washings like a Galvanized filter will!
