These stirring rods are 5/8" in Diameter and 12" in length, for use when melting larger amounts / volume of metal.
The carbon rod is used when melting metals with Torch, in Gas or Electric Melting Furnaces. Rod is used for stirring the molten metal in order to get a good homogenous mix of the alloys in Gold, Silver, Brass...
Note: NOT to be used with Platinum, Graphite will contaminate Platinum Metal.
Carbon stirring rods are made of high density fine grain graphite.
