About Michael Anthony Ricker:
Michael was born in 1940 in Fort Collins, Colorado. In the late 1960's Michael teamed up with his
in-laws to start Ricker-Bartlett, Inc. in Estes Park, Colorado, selling Pewter
"PeeWees" - figurines which began to be sold by the thousands to
stores all over the United States. In
1975, Michael began creating his artistic vision of a fictional pewter town
depicting life in the U.S. at the turn of the 20th century. After an entire year of work, the resulting
masterpiece was known as "Turn of the Century City Park." The first casting was given to our great
country and presented to President Gerald Ford in 1976. Michael then dedicated the next 10 years of
his life to creating an entire city upon being inspired by his visit with
President Ford.
From 1976 to 1985, Michael released the first Limited Edition
sculptures in a four-part series. He
also released annual new segments towards his great undertaking which he now
named "Park City." His
masterpiece was completed in 1985, and in 1992 Michael broke ground on a new
casting studio and museum in Estes Park.
Throughout the 1990's, Michael's vast collector base and
diverse collection of artwork continued to grow. He was adding up to 100 new sculptures each
year. In January of 2006, Michael
Anthony Ricker passed away. His
Showroom/Museum is now located at 6868 North Franklin Avenue in Loveland,
Colorado. The location for the permanent
display site of Michael's beloved "Park City - America Remembered"
remains undetermined as of September 2012.
