High Quality, Made for Professional Operators. This listing is for new 3/8" x 75' winch cable. IPS Fiber core wire rope. This cable features an alloy SELF LOCKING swivel hook with latch kit on one end (hook has 21,400 lb. breaking strength). Ideal for most tow trucks (roll backs and wreckers) that were shipped from the factory with 3/8" cable. The SELF LOCKING swivel hook is requested and worth the extra cost to towers who experience problems breaking the latch on standard swivel hooks (see our other eBay listings for cable with standard swivel hooks, non-swivel hooks and steel core cable.

Always consult the manufacturer's recommendations when replacing winch cable. Fiber Core is more flexible and is generally considered to last longer because the fiber core holds lubricant that is squeezed out when the cable is placed under load.

Some tow trucks are shipped from the factory with Steel core cable. Steel core cable can be either IPS IWRC (Improved Plow Steel Independent Wire Rope Center), EIPS IWRC (Extra Improved Plow Steel IWRC), or EEIPS IWRC (Extra Extra Improved Plow Steel IWRC). Steel core cable is some stronger and more crush resistant than fiber core but not as flexible. EEIPS is the strongest followed by EIPS and then IPS.
