Carbon Graphite Rods used to stir and mix your precious metals, scrap while melting to get a good homogeneous mix.  The graphite is also used to remove any impurities on the surface of the molten metal.

The carbon rod is used when melting Gold & Silver metals with Torch, in Gas or Electric Melting Furnaces. Rod is very useful for stirring the molten metal in order to get a good homogenous mix of the alloys in the metal.
